This past Sunday Morning show....
After having over 48 hours to reflect on the show on Sunday Morning, here is what I think.
I was right. I was completely right. I went back and listened again. I was and I am right.
Now, if you haven't listened to the show you can get it back at the website. It is commercial free and it is only 39 minutes long.
The show was about Hezbollah's invasion of Israel and the kiddnapping of two Israeli soldiers and the response that continues. Actually, I opened the show by saying that the world has gone insane. I read the statement from The Holy See (Vatican) that had been mischaracerized in most of the rest of the media. I commented how countries like Norway were telling Israel, as were others, to show restraint.
It was an interesting show. At one point, the show degraded as a caller, who indicated to my producer that he was possibly Anti-Semetic. This caller, who identified him as John Paul, quizzed me on my lack of friendships with Jews. After indicating that it did not matter to me, a persons religion or ethnicity is not a factor to me. He implied that I was a bigot.
I called him a bigot. I called him an Anti-Semite. He did not argue this. John Paul only decried my name calling.
Was it name calling? By definition, yes it was. Was it the truth? You listen and you decide. Tell me.
In any case, I often rethink my position on issues. Everyone needs to do that. Mainly for clarity, but also to show an open mind.
Looking back on Sunday. I think I was clear. I think I was on target. And I still think I was right.
No, let me restate that. I was and I still am right.
Now, if you listened to the show and you disagree, I want to hear back from you. If you agree partially, let me know where we differ. If you agree completely, I hope you enjoyed the show. I also hope that you disagree with me on other issues from time to time.
