16 January 2008 - Wednesday, Anything Can Happen Day
I have often issued the reminder that on the original "Mickey Mouse Club" from the 1950's that Wednesday was Anything Can Happen Day. Well, it seems that, for me at least, this Wednesday is Nothing Can Happen Day.
Now, this is not a complaint. I have actually been chuckling about it. I have gotten things booked for the rest of the week and even for parts of next week. But, try as I did, nothing was able to fall in to place for today.
It is just funny how things happen at times.
I could have tried to schedule a guest or two for today that do not interest me. And if they do not interest me, why would they interest you? The only answer that I come up with it, they wouldn't.

Here it comes....
A federal report is recommending an increase in the federal gas tax for the first time since 1993.
How does 40 cents a gallon sound? At least they would phase it in over five years.
When I arrived in Jefferson City on 26 December 2006, gas was $2.09 9/10's a gallon. Now, it is 90 cents a gallon more. Not due to taxes.
The money would be directed toward our crumbling infrastructure, mainly the highways. I am all for that.
BUT, can we NOT find the money from the MOUNTAINS of WASTE in the Federal budget?? We can. We should.
They won't.
We are to blame.
We put them there.
We keep them there.
Shame on US!!!
We need Dave Kovic to run things. And bring his buddy Murray Blum in to go over the budget.
