19 February 2008 - Fidel, in like a lion, out like a lamb?

He seized power when Eisenhower was President.  He irritated Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush....now he says, "No mas!"

Of course, I am referring to Fidel Castro.  But don't go out looking for cheaper sugar or legal Cuban cigars anytime soon.  Little brother Raul will hold power for now.  And elections will follow.

Keep in mind, this will be a COMMUNIST election.  So, expect a choice of ONE!

So, will the Cheeseheads break the streak for Barack Obama?

Unless you count New Mexico, and why should we since they can't......(took how long to decide?), Obama has a streak of eight streak.  In fact, he is playing so strong that I think he cracked the top ten in the latest Associated Press men's basketball poll.  But what will Wisconsin do?  WWWD?  Sorry...but that is a mystery that even Scooby Doo and the gang will have to wait to get the answer.

Reasons why political pundits believe Wisconsin may go for Hillary Clinton....and I am NOT making this up...the population is mainly white and less educated.

Insert your own jokes here.  I lived in Wisconsin for 13 years (but only 11 consecutive years)....I will keep mine to myself.

Speaking of jokes, The History Channel has a show that started running last night called "The History of the Joke" hosted by Lewis Black.

Before finally falling to sleep last night, I watched this show.  It is not only very informative, but it is pretty damned funny.  I do not recommend it for younger viewers.

Of course, there are few things with Lewis Black that I wouldn't watch.  In my opinion, he is one of the funniest, and oddly accurate, people that I have ever seen.  For that reason alone, I highly recommend this show.

And finally, have you seen the latest basketball polls? Of course, I bring this up for purely selfish reasons.  BUT....look at the schedule and see what is happening on Saturday!!!!

First, Memphis must beat Tulane, who took the Tigers to overtime in their earlier meeting, and Tennessee must beat Auburn, who is only 13-10 and are coming to Thompson-Boling Arena.  Both of those games are on Wednesday.  But it sets up a fairly rare 1 vs 2 match up less than a month before the tournament begins.

Huh, I could actually legally lay money on this game this year.  Hmmmmm.

--------------------------

Well, I am OK with this on college campuses, not so much on the K-12.  Just my opinion, but not a bad thought coming out of Arizona.  I think my posting from Friday reflects that.

Add your comments as you see fit.  OH, and keep in mind that you will probably NOT see an update on Friday....or most of next week.
