Today is the last day for Dean Morgan here at Cumulus.  We all wish him well as he moves on to the Missouri State Senate Communications Office.  I know he will do well there and that we will still hear from him from time to time.

However, all that said, it is NOW time to activate one of the oldest office rules ever.  It is the rule that states you are allowed to blame the guy who left for EVERYTHING that goes wrong for the next six months.

So, I blame Dean.  Not sure what for yet.  But clearly, it is his fault.

More talk on illegal immigration.  The problem with all the talk is that it is MISGUIDED.

Here is how.  All of the main players combine illegal immigration with border security.  While related, they need to be treated and attacked seperately.

FIRST, secure the borders.  Period.  I do not want the hordes of Huns coming across the border and leading to the collapse of the Empire.  NO, we are NOT an Empire, but it illustrates my point.  History can repeat itself.  Build a damned wall, a la East Berlin, if needed.  Patrol the wall.  Keep the bad guys out.

SECOND, and this is the key part where those who disagree with me on part one MAY come and join me on.....OPEN up immigration legally.  And here is how I suggest doing it.  Anyone who can document that the are healthy and not a criminal should be let in to the country on a sixty day condiditonal work visa.  That temporary work visa would be issued as an identification card with an RFID chip installed in it.  Those persons are NOT allowed any non-emergency public services during that conditional period.  Upon finding a job, a Social Security number is assigned and they report to I.N.S. their work status.  The employer confirms with the government that this person is their employee.  If this person leaves the employment without another job, they have sixty days to find another job.  If they are eligible for unemployment, they can collect.  If not, they get NOTHING.  If they don't have work after sixty days, they can apply for an extension and explain their circumstances, or get out of the USA.  Every case is different and should NOT be treated as a one size fits all.

Finally, THIRD, make ENGLISH the official language of the United States of America.  BUT, encourage multi-lingual education starting in Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten levels.  It is a PROVEN fact that multi-linugual students are higer achievers.
