6 February 2008 - Be honest, was it really Super?
Now it is time to review the events of yesterday. It was, of course, Super Tuesday.
One thing was decided. It is now known that Tennessee can come from being down 16-3 and win by 22 over Florida, final score 104-82.
Beyond that, things are really no more clear than they were on Monday. Except that again, Tennessee beat Florida handily at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Sure Mike Huckabee showed that his campaign has life and should be respected. Sounds like his stump speeches about respect for life. Anyhow...
Mitt Romney sounded a bit like a candidate from 2004 when he promised to take the campaign all the way to the convention then the White House. It was not punctuated with a scream though. Dammit.
Hillary is still ...uh... well, let me edit here, leading. But not by much. Ha ha ha..... Yes, I am loving to see her squirm. Hopefully, this keeps her from laughing.
Barack Obama won Missouri and did well in a lot of places that he was not expected to. GOOD!!
But really, the only thing super about Tuesday was that comeback by the Big Orange in Knoxville last night.

Last week I wrote that it seems that no one running for President has a CLUE about how to PROPERLY handle the illegal immigration/border security issue. Well, I was reading on Monday and again yesterday that it appears that Senator John McCain is starting to come around. While a sponsor of a worker visa program that failed, he now seems to admit that we need to separate the issues.
Senator McCain, welcome aboard. Now jump ALL THE WAY IN...the water is just fine.
For those who missed it, look at my entry from Friday. While NOT a complete plan, the outline is fairly clear.
Now, if only I could get the candidates to pay attention to that, we could have some real change.

I still have no solution to the problem of money corrupting the politcal process. I think more open and absolute disclosure is a big start toward fixing it.
Part one, disclose EVERY donation, even a PENNY, from every individual to every candidates.
Part two, no organizations can donate, ONLY individuals. PAC's and 501c3's are HORRIBLE.
Part three, donations over $10,000 must be followed by monthly print, radio and television ads disclosing who gave that amount of money. And put NO cap on the money that can be donated. If someone like George Soros, one of the most evil people on the planet, wants to give billions of dollars to candidates, fine. But the exposure for the candidate would be harsh. Really, you want to be associated with a Jew who helped Nazi's collect their fortunes, who also tried to cheat the UK welfare system, and make his fortunes via currency speculation - hurting millions of people world wide for his gain, then fine. I hope you can sleep well at night when you associate with scum like him.
But those are just might thoughts.....maybe I am just too idealistic.

Oh, and did you see the real super news from Tuesday. You know, where Tennessee beat defending National Champions Florida by 22.....after trailing by 13 early. That was Super.
