18 April 2008 - Friday droppings

The Missouri Plan, with all of its secrecy, remains in place.  "Sunshine Laws" are a good thing.  But, I suppose not OK for the judicial branch of the Missouri State Government.

Really?

Explain this to me please.  Is it like sausage making?

Nah, just hypocrisy.

I wonder this morning how my friends the Thompson's are doing in Bloomington, Indiana, this morning.  A 5.2 magnitude earthquake hit southern Illinois near the Indiana border.

I will note that they have experienced earthquakes before since Roger and Debbie did live in California.  Just not something they expected here in the Midwest.

I think that is what woke me up.  As I looked at my clock and set it down at what I thought was 3:39.  My clock lost its synch with the atomic clock and it was off by an hour.....as I learned when Kathy's clock went off six minutes later.

At that point, I was really shaken up.

Jimmy Carter is meeting with Hamas in Syria today.  This is his second meeting this week.

No word if he is honoring any OTHER terrorists with wreath on their grave.

The Rockies and Padres went 22 innings for the longer major league baseball game in 15 years.  The Rockies finally got the win 2 to 1 in San Diego.

I do not recall the game between Minnesota and Cleveland from August of 1993, but I do remember one between the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago White Sox. That was played in May of 1984 and lasted 25 innings.  The Sox won that game 8 to 7....and it was finished the next day.  Started on May 8th and wrapped on the 9th.
